Work/life balance

Precisely because Knorr-Bremse is a family-run company, we believe in maintaining a healthy work/life balance. To achieve this, we have launched various worldwide initiatives and measures that we are continuously developing. We are aware that what can be offered depends very much on the employee’s individual position, field of activity and degree of responsibility. For this reason, the measures are needs-led and vary according to the site concerned. They include:

 

  • Flexible work schedules and working time accounts enabling employees to work longer or shorter hours than collectively agreed and thereby collect working time credits or debits
  • Part-time working
  • Time off work for several months (“sabbaticals”)
  • Teleworking
  • Support for the family, such as assistance in finding childcare and personal care for dependents
  • Family support programs such as preventive health care and medical insurance contributions, special financial aid or loans, holiday care, family days, time off to care for children or close relatives in the case of sickness, maternity and parental leave – even in countries without the relevant legal regulations
  • Other offers such as health programs and facilities
