Knorr-Bremse Global Care

The charitable organization Knorr-Bremse Global Care supports people who are in need as a result of environmental disasters, accidents, armed conflict, poverty and disease. The main aim of the organization is to improve living conditions and promote the independence of those in need. The work of Knorr-Bremse Global Care focuses on educational and social infrastructure projects as well as direct aid for the needy.

Originally established as a one-off response to the need for reconstruction in the wake of a major disaster, Knorr-Bremse Global Care has developed over the years into a permanent charitable network. The achievements speak for themselves: Since the organization was first established 8 years ago, about 300,000 people have been helped, and the number of projects has grown as steadily as the donations - while still maintaining our high quality standards. All this gives us encouragement for the future and motivates us to keep contributing to improving the living conditions of people in need.

Knorr-Bremse Global Care is primarily funded by the Knorr-Bremse Group and depends on the commitment of employees within the Group.

Employee participation

Knorr-Bremse Global Care also aims to raise awareness of the need for social commitment amongst employees in the Knorr-Bremse Group and to motivate them to become active. Its efforts have been successful: employees in many locations are already dedicating time and energy to actively participating in projects.  Apart from collaboration in current projects, the organization expressly encourages employees to submit suggestions for further projects. As part of the Group’s international development program for young executives, Knorr-Bremse makes available an annual budget for which participants can apply with a proposal for a project that they will then personally supervise. Even trainees at the Munich site can make use of funds available for implementing project ideas that are considered worthy of support.
